title: "pols desktop"
description: "Print a link to the sandbox's desktop in the browser"

<!-- Generated by scripts/reference.mjs from the pols CLI's --help. Do not edit; run `npm run reference:sync`. -->

Print a link to the sandbox's desktop in the browser. It works for
12 hours, also for reconnects, until the sandbox stops (a resume needs a new
link) or the API key is revoked. Whoever has the link controls the desktop's
mouse and keyboard, so keep it secret. Its token is after the #, which
browsers never send to a server; run this command again for a new link.

The page shows the desktop as video over WebRTC: smooth, and with a
fraction of noVNC's bandwidth once the picture moves. It falls back to
noVNC when WebRTC cannot connect (say, where UDP is blocked), and switches
either way. `--novnc` opens it with noVNC.

## Usage

```text
pols desktop SANDBOX [flags]
```

## Examples

```sh
pols desktop web
pols desktop web --novnc
```

## Flags

```text
-h, --help    help for desktop
    --novnc   open the desktop with noVNC instead of the WebRTC viewer
```

The [global flags](/docs/reference/cli/#global-flags) work with this command too.
